Fergie Tonights Gonna be a Good Night over China Glaze Sun Worshipper

Fergie by Wet n Wild Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night over China Glaze Sun Worshiper, sunlight
I've already told you that most of the Fergie by Wet n Wild colors are repackaging of other Wet n Wild products. However, there were a few colors that are unique enough that I decided to add them to my collection. Here is one of them, Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night, a black and gold glitter. I layered it over the China Glaze neon, Sun Worshiper. As you can see, TGBaGB is mostly black glitter with a few gold hex glitters thrown in. I don't think it's the kind of polish you could build to opacity, based on my experience with it. Join me for more pictures and details, after the jump!

2 coats of Fergie by Wet n Wild Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night over China Glaze Sun Worshiper on middle and pinky, 1 coat on index and ring.
Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night is a great polish because there are very few black glitters in the market. The only ones that come to mind are Wet n Wild Tangled in My Web, which was limited edition, and Nubar Black Polka Dots, which is difficult for most of us to find.  This polish is different and more unique than those because it also includes a sprinkling of gold hex glitters. I really liked it on top of China Glaze Sun Worshipper, I think it helps with taming the effect of a bright neon.

You might notice that the index and ring fingers of this manicure look different than the middle and pinky fingers. That's because I added a 2nd coat to the middle and pinky fingers to display the density of the glitter in TGBaGN. The black glitter is pretty dense, especially at 2 coats,  but I doubt you could ever get it to be fully opaque.
Fergie by Wet n Wild Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night over China Glaze Sun Worshiper, compared with some orange marigolds.
I think China Glaze Sun Worshiper is a must-have for neon lovers. It's a unique yellowish orange fluorescent that's so bright it's practically blinding. I had two guys comment on the intensity of this polish, so it's definitely an attention-getter. I originally compared this color to the color of Cheetos when describing it, but while I was walking around, I saw some bright orange marigolds and realized that the two matched exactly. I proved it by taking a comparison picture.

Overall, I'm pleased with this combination and am definitely glad I went ahead and purchased Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night. It's a great glitter that will work well over many colors, especially blinding neons like Sun Worshiper!

  1. Yeah, I noticed that about the new Fergie polishes. Some are unique, some aren't. And they're a bit expensive for Wet n' Wild in my opinion. I only picked up two. TGBAGN and Rock n' Roll which reminded me of CG Some Like It Haute.

I am a sucker for black glitter...

  2. I am too! I love this one, and will totally buy Tangled in My Web if WnW re-releases that one.

Rock n Roll is a repromote of the Coloricon color Diamond in the Rough. It *is* a dupe for SLIH, I found this comparison between the two: http://nailedtothet.blogspot.com/2011/11/comparison-post-gray-based-holographic.html.
