Don't Make Me Wine about waterfall nails!

China Glaze Don’t Make Me Wine with OPI and LA Colors accents, shade
Don’t Make Me Wine is one of the polishes in the new China Glaze fall collection. It didn’t strike me as being super unique, but it was pretty and seemed like something I didn’t have in my collection. Don’t Make Me Wine is a dark berry wine shimmer. It’s not quite as dark as colors like Zoya Jem or OPI Every Month is Octoberfest, but it’s definitely a fall color. I wore it with the waterfall look that TheNailasaurus originated. I really like the overall look, I think the colors work really well together. Join me after the jump to find out what colors I used and see more pictures!

For this manicure, I used 2 coats of Don’t Make Me Wine. Then I added stripes to the tips of my nails with OPI Just Spotted the Lizard and LA Colors Cactus. Cactus is an olive green color that’s very reminiscent of Butter London Wallis, though I haven’t ever found a comparison photo of the two. OPI JStL, as most nail philes already know, is OPI’s dupe of Chanel Peridot. Since JStL shifts from gold to green, it plays well with the golden olive color of Cactus, and I think both of them work nicely with China Glaze Don’t Make Me Wine.

The waterfall technique is surprisingly easy to do, and I think it looks so interesting on the nail. Sammy over at The Nailasaurus posted a very thorough tutorial for it. She's done a lot of manis featuring this look, but my favorite might be this one with contrasting colors. Although this blue one and this neon one are also fantastic.   I think even the nail art challenged should be able to use the waterfall technique. Not that I feel I was totally successful.  My lines didn't come to a sharp end like hers and my spacing is off, but I'm still pretty happy with the results.
