China Glaze Make a Spectacle over a ton of colors!

China Glaze Make a Spectacle over  various colors
When I originally saw China Glaze Make a Spectacle at my nail supply place, I passed on it. My friend Esmeralda Pearlfinish already has China Glaze Snow Globe and, to me, it looked identical to Snow Globe in the bottle. It wasn't until I found this post about Make a Spectacle that I was sold on its uniqueness. I've ended up trying this glitter over a lot of other polishes, and it looks great over most of them. I'm so glad I went back for this polish.

Dude, Where's My Duochrome? Fergie Ferguson Crest Syrah

Fergie by Wet n Wild Ferguson Crest Syrah, sunlight
When I saw Ferguson Crest Syrah at the store, I was immediately drawn to it. Why? The polish displayed a beautiful gold duochrome effect in the bottle. I'm here to tell you, though, that it's a total lie! >:(>:(  There is no duochrome effect to be found in this Fergie brand polish. At all. I feel so let down, and hope others can avoid disappointment because of this review. It's definitely a beautiful color in its own right, but I bought Ferguson Crest Syrah for its duochromeness. See more pictures of the polish, and find out what it's a dupe for for, after the jump.

See that gold shimmer in the bottle? No? You won't on the nail either!

NYC Peach Sparkle with glitter tips

NYC Peach Sparkle with OPI Spark de Triomphe tips
Today I'm posting a color that's quite a change from the bright polishes I sported during neon week. NYC Peach Sparkle is subdued, classy, but still gorgeous because of its beautiful gold shimmer. It's part of the limited edition NYC Summer in the City collection, but I've still seen its companion color, Golden Glam, around at my local Rite Aids. If you want NYC Peach Sparkle, look for it now, because it will get more hard to find as time goes on. If you own it, but haven't used it yet, what are you waiting for? ;) I wore it topped it with some OPI Spark de Triomphe and another color.  What was the other color and why did I need it? Find out, after the jump!

Neon week-psychedelic Hello Kitty

I'm concluding neon week a little late, but with one of my favorites-Hello Kitty! I liked Hello Kitty as a kid, and as a teacher's aide, I  still see her a lot. The adorable feline is as lovable as ever, all these years later! I wanted to do a neon look that's as cheerful as she is, so this is what I came up with. Find out what colors I used and what problem I encountered doing this mani, after the jump!

Neon week- Palm Trees (at sunset)

Gah! Things are not going smoothly for me right now, I'd planned to have this posted way earlier in the week. However, I was rendered useless on Sunday and part of Monday by food poisoning.

I won't keep dwelling on my problems and instead will think of the beach, with the waves crashing, palm trees swaying and the sun going down.  Are you as relaxed as I am yet? Good! Hopefully that's the atmosphere these "neon trees" capture.

Neon week- rainbow leopard

Stamped leopard print manicure, with neon accent

Here is my take on a pretty classic kind of nail art, the leopard print manicure. I actually have a soft spot for leopard print, because it's the first kind of nail art I ever did. Back then, it was a pretty standard gold, brown and black scheme- nothing like the crazy combo I have here.

This manicure features a simple white base with black stamping, and an array of neon polishes. Find out what colors I used and check out some more pictures, after the jump!

Neon week- zebra skittles

As a teacher's aide, I go to class "circle time" every day and am painfully aware that summer is officially drawing to an end. (Fall officially begins this coming Saturday, the 22nd.) Before it's officially over, I wanted to do some manicures featuring some of the fluorescent polishes I've sported over the summer. Here's my first one.

Neon zebra skittles
I'm sure you've seen a ton of zebra print and a ton of neons in the past, but I couldn't find many images of the type of mani I'm sporting now and I figure it can't hurt to share.

To see more pictures and find out what polishes I used, plus to see bonus pics featuring my thumbs, join me after the jump!
